Golden Rock Plantation Inn: (869)-469-3346
A ship’s bell rings between 7- 7.30pm (except for Buffet night @ 8.00pm) to announce that our plantation style evening meal is being served. The dinner-only restaurant is well regarded offering candle lit West Indian cuisine in an ancient room with vine-draped fieldstone walls. A local string band jazzes up the popular Saturday night Caribbean buffet during the High Season. Cocktails are served under a vaulted stone ceiling in the cool earthy bar. The bartender stands and makes wonderful drinks in the original hearth of the old kitchen. Dinner is often accompanied by a small orchestra of crickets and tree frogs. The cooks are mistresses of Nevisian cuisine, crafting unforgettable meals from the island’s bounty of fresh seafood, tropical fruits and seasonal produce…tannia fritters, broiled lobster tails, grilled herb snapper, fragrant curries, christophene and green papaya pie are just a sample of treats that come from our wonderful kitchen.

Tequila Sheila’s at the Cades Bay: (869)-469-8139
This restaurant is on the premises of the Inn at Cades Bay, set on a wooden platform less than 18m (59 ft.) from the seafront, with a covered parapet but without walls. It offers panoramic views as far away as St. Kitts, and a menu that incorporates West Indian, Mexican, and international cuisine. Lunchtime brings dishes such as roti, enchiladas, grilled or jerk chicken, and lobster quesadillas. Dinner platters include vegetable-stuffed chicken, lobster, filet mignon with horseradish sauce or béarnaise sauce, and fish. Flying fish, wahoo, and mahimahi are very fresh here, and prepared as simply as possible — usually grilled with nothing more than lemon juice and herbs. The bar, fashioned from an overturned fishing boat, offers margaritas, various brands of tequila, and all the usual party-colored drinks you’d expect.

Like the name implies, you’ll dine under the flapping fronds of banana trees (and the stars) at one of the newest and hippest eateries on Nevis. Run by the ambitious young restaurateur Gillian Smith, ‘Bananas’ is her trendy dinner spot offering an eclectic fusion cuisine. During breakfast and lunch, Gillian also runs ‘Cafe des Arts’ in Charlestown.
