Caribbean Sea Life In Nevis West Indies

Nevis is a perfect place for exploring the shores of the Caribbean Ocean!

If you are interested in learning more about Caribbean Aquatic life, Nevis Island offers many great outlets to help you do so.

~ NEVIS SNORKELING ~ NEVIS SCUBA DIVING ~

Aquatic Wildlife can be witnessed as you snorkel or scuba dive off the beautiful Nevis Beaches.

HERE IS A BEAUTIFUL VISUAL… :)

The Caves, also known as Devil’s Caves, is my personal favorite dive spot where one can explore the underwater flora and fauna. You will have to take a 35 minute boat ride to the southwest side of Nevis to get there, but it’s well worth the exciting voyage out to sea. What kind of marine sea creatures can you expect to swim with?

    Snappers Grunts
    Black-Durgeons
    Squirrel-fish
    Chubb
    Blue Tangs
    Glassy Sweepers
    Nurse Sharks
    Stingrays
    Lobster
    AND SO MUCH MORE…

On October 18,2008, St. Kitts and Nevis will be the host islands for the Sixth Annual International Soca Awards (ISA), marking the first time that such an event will be held on there.

The event will feature performances by top soca artists and will conclude with an exciting “Soca Weekend” on St. Kitts / Nevis Island.

SUN St. Kitts & Nevis always offers some great insight on Nevis Island and St. Kitts Events…

“We are pleased to host this prestigious event,” Senator Ricky Skerritt, minister of state in the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture, said.

Events leading up to the highly anticipated awards show will begin on 16 Oct., with total local soca night featuring a soca monarch competition. Hosts for the awards will be Canadian actress, comedienne and radio personality Suzanne “Zan” Coy along with St. Kitts’ St. Clair “G Cue” Liburd.

West Indian Festivities In New York City

2008 Caribbean Festival was held Labor Day Weekend in New York!!!

West Indian Nations conglomerated in New York City on Labor Day at the 41st West Indian-American Day Carnival Parade!

Make Sure you visit the West Indian-American Day Carnival Association Website at http://www.wiadca.com/

The vibrant and festive West Indian-American Day Carnival Parade makes its way through Crown Heights on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn yesterday.

The food was plentiful: Oxtail, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, roasted corn, and jerk pork were sold at stands along the route…

The parade yesterday, which ran to the Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn from Crown Heights, was a sea of neon spandex. Performers gyrated on 4-foot stilts and women in giant butterfly costumes with pterodactyl wingspans strutted by.

The crowd lining the parade route — sometimes up to seven people deep — were clad in their home countries’ flags, many wearing face paint in the colors of Jamaica, Guyana, Haiti, and a dozen other West Indian nations.

And of coarse Nevis Island was there proudly representing Nevis Culture and Nevis Cuisine

At the Nevis booth, parade watchers lined up for homemade specialties such as salt-fish cake; johnnycake, a flour-based fried patty, and goat water, a soupy combination of goat, scallion, carrots, celery, and potato.

I LOVE this quote… “It’s just West Indies pride … one big last hurrah before the summer’s over,” said Zach Bynoe, 25, insisting the parade is not about competition between the small countries.

The Nevis booth is a family-run affair. For the past 20 years, Barbs Frances, 45, and her extended family have driven a rental truck from the Bronx to sell their food starting at 5 a.m. Despite the heat coming off her skillet as she fried the salt-fish patties, Ms. Frances was smiling. The day is all about “seeing everyone who you’ve known for a long time,” she said.

A new season is approaching and we can almost say “ta-ta” to a Summer Nevis Vacation. Not to worry though, the Island of Nevis offers incredible NEVIS DEALS all year round :)

Must Watch ~ Awesome Nevis Video…

I am so happy to see Nevis West Indies thriving! You can read up HERE how St. Kitts And Nevis economy continues to grow steadily. I think Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is doing a superb job as St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister. banner700px149px1.jpg

What a Great “Travel To Nevis” Informational Video from YouTube:

This is a Really Great Article from cuopm.com explaining the strengthening and well-being of the Beautiful Island of Nevis.

St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas said Thursday that in spite of the global upheavals that make the news headlines every day, the twin-island Federation continues to grow steadily.

“Our financial institutions remain strong, and investors – local and foreign – continue to place great confidence in the growth prospects of our Federation,” Prime Minister Douglas told the opening ceremony of the 2008 National Consultation on the Economy….

He pointed out that St. Kitts and Nevis as a small nation continues to be extremely vulnerable. “Indeed, even the global experts seem unsure as to how long the global credit crisis and the resulting economic slowdown will last. Hence, we cannot be certain that we will not be affected even more severely if these global problems are prolonged.

We must therefore devise strategies aimed at mitigating, to a significant degree, the risk associated with the tumultuous changes in the global environment,” Dr. Douglas told the 200 participants drawn from the Federal Government and Nevis Island Administration, the National Assembly and the Nevis Island Assembly as well as representatives from several organisations including the St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce, bankers, the Contractors Association, the Association of Disabled Persons, students of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College and the he Hotel and Tourism Association.
