FYI - The International Nevis Triathlon is now named the Carino Health Spa Triathlon.

The Nevis Cycle and Triathlon Club is GEARED UP! However, there will be atheletes from all over the world to participate in the 7th annual Nevis Triathlon on March 15, 2009.

The triathlon features an OLYMPIC distance course, a shorter SPRINT distance course and a TRY-A-TRY course.

There are amazing sights to see while biking, running and swimming. The course is designed with the athlete in mind while also highlighting some of the best views of Nevis Island.

The Olympic distance triathlon includes:

A 1,500M swim that starts at Gallows Bay in downtown Charlestown Nevis.

Then, there is 40K bike route north along the main island road.

This is followed by a flat 10K run that finishes on the waterfront in Charlestown.

The sprint race will take place on the same course as the Olympic, but will be only half the distance.

The Try-aTry will include a 250M swim, 10kM bike and 3KM run.

As far as fees go:

OLYMPIC – individual $75 US / $200 EC - relay $60 US / $160 EC per person
SPRINT – individual $55 US / $150 EC - relay $40 US / $110 EC per person
TRY-A-TRI - $25 US / $70 EC

These fees include:

Pre-Race Pasta Party (Guests: $12 US / $30 EC)
Post-Race Party (Guests: $10 US / $25 EC)
Finish Line Food (Race number required)
Tee Shirt
Finishers Medal

The event is sanctioned by the Organization of East Caribbean States (OECS), a group of nine Caribbean nations that promotes cooperation in defense, international diplomacy, economic and sustainable development policies.
