The annual History and Heritage Week of Activities is here! Today marks the week that will be filled of fun and celbration for the history and rich heritage of the sister islands of St. Kitts and Nevis.
So, what is the line up of activites for today February 15, 2009?

Open Day begins at the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park at 2:30 pm.
The Ecumenical Service is at the Antioch Baptist Church, St. Kitts at 5:00 pm.
The Official Launch by Hon. Prime Minister with an address on ZIZ Radio/Television is at 6:55 pm.
The Program Launch in Nevis is at the Alberta Payne Centre at 7:00 pm.
Chair of the History and Heritage Week Committee, Sir Probyn Inniss said that:
It seeks to promote and encourage participation in and awareness of the history and heritage of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis among its citizens by partnering with other organizations and individuals in promoting various activities.
The celebrations will continue on all week long and many events are scheduled to be held.
Monday 16, 2009 entails:

A discussion at 8:30 am on WINN FM’s Breakfast with Toni show.
An Open Day at the National Museum (Old treasury) starting at 9:00 am.
The Preliminary Round of the Primary Schools Quiz at 10:30 am.
A live Panel Discussion on ZIZ Radio and Television at 9: 00 pm.
On Tuesday 17, 2009:

The prominent Dominican and Caribbean historian, Dr. Lennox Honychurch speaks to fifth and sixth formers of the schools in Nevis at 10: 00 am.
As well as a panel discussion on Choice FM at 7: 00 pm.
Wednesday 18, 2009 constists of:

Dr. Honychurch will speak to fifth formers of high schools and the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College in St. Kitts ‘Reclaiming Our Heritage’ Presentation at Ocean View Hotel, Nevis and a lecture by Dr. Lennox Honychurch at the UWI Centre, St. Kitts.
Other activities include the Finals of the Primary Schools Quiz, a workshop/symposium for History and Social Studies Teachers and a Food Fair and Exhibition at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC).
Next Saturday 21, 2009 will include:

A History and Heritage Hike to Wingfield, St. Kitts
The Closing Ceremony & Awards at Pinney’s Beach Hotel in Nevis and another Open Day at Brimstone Fortress National Park.
On Sunday 22, 2009 it’s a Community Get-together at the Cayon Community Centre
A TV Broadcast of Finals of Primary Schools Quiz on Monday 23 and a CFBC “Back to Roots” Culture Pageant at Carnival Village, St. Kitts on Saturday 28, 2009.
