After winning the coveted title, Boone told SKNVibes that being crowned the National Carnival Queen was a “great feeling.”
She said her preparations were tough but knew she had to pull through and was very pleased that she succeeded in the end.
SKNVibes reported on what the Miss National Carnival Queen, Samantha Boone, had to say as well details on the pageant:
“I plan to continue to educate people by being an advocate for my platform which is diabetes in children and adolescents,” she said.
Boone’s performance throughout the night was described as consistent and she seemed comfortable and relaxed onstage.
In the first appearance, she turned heads and made eyes pop in a very revealing light yellow swimwear, complimented with glitters and was dubbed ‘A burst of sunshine.’
During the talent segment she showcased her skills at singing but failed to impress many as it was described as “simplistic.”
However, her costume appearance captured the crowd’s attention once again as she danced and pranced onstage to some of the latest carnival tunes, including the popular ‘A wan whale’ by the Grandmasters Band.
Her costume depicted the traditional folklore of St. Kitts and Nevis incorporated with clowns, masquerades and steel pans.
Her evening wear had a similar style to her swimwear in terms of the cut, but this time she chose the sultry color of red to showcase her smashing figure.
The passion she has for her platform that deals with diabetes in children and adolescence came out during the interview segment, as she appeared well-informed by the solutions she gave in her answers to questions.
She deseverved all that she was arwarded. Boone walked away with a number of prizes including EC$10,000.
The night featured a packed and exciting sideshow, which included Best A Dem, the Mansion Bull, CFBC Dance Ensemble and the house band for the night, Lightz Out.
Former National Carnival Queen, Mariece Roberts, took her final walk and the 2008/09 Queen, Smantha Boone was crowned by the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Hon. Denzil Douglas.
The St. Kitts and Nevis Pageant was beautiful! The tradition is alive and well on Nevis Island and St. Kitts. It just proves again that beauty is only skin deep. It’s what inside that counts.
