Nevis National Queen Pageant Nears
There are only a few weeks left before the exciting coronation of the 2008-2009 National Carnival Queen of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The beautiful Contestants are preparing for this Caribbean pageant as they continue to embraced the responsibility that accompany it.
So, what does being a queen entail? Royalty is the main aspect with a duty of representing your people in the best possible manner. That’s why a number of events are geared towards increasing the level of exposure, while allowing the young ladies to market not only themselves, but their generous sponsors.
NEVIS ISLAND BEAUTIES
So, what exactly are these Nevis Island and St. Kitts queens doing to show their loyalty and support? SKNVibes - offers the inside look at the ladies!
Patriotism flows throw the veins of the six lovely Contestants who ask not what their country can do for them, but what they can do for their country? This is what it all comes down to! Volunteer work is a huge aspect of the competition…
The ladies voluntarily participated in the Nevis Aids Awareness March in an effort to show their support in the age long fight against this epidemic and to debunk several popular misconceptions about HIV/AIDS.
The Contestants joined forces with other prominent social groups and concerned citizens and paraded through the streets of Basseterre as advocates of HIV/AIDS awareness, urging people to look at AIDS as a “normal” disease and help to reduce the stigma attached to it.
It is important to underline the level of sisterhood that can be obtained through pageantry even though ones competitive nature has to emerge in order to reach the finish line. Camaraderie is prevalent amongst the ladies.
Such was visible at Bobsy’s Bar & Grill where the girls were treated to an evening of fine dining that presented an opportunity to showcase all that they learnt in their invaluable Dining & Social Etiquette Training Session which was facilitated by Mrs. Diana Louard.
It was indeed a treat for patrons at The Sugars Bar & Night Spot when the Contestants of the National Carnival Queen Pageant engaged in a few friendly rounds of pool. They literally ’shot the lights out’.
Poetry is like a voice from your soul. The ladies experienced first-hand the impact of ‘the spoken word’.
The featured poets at Island Xpressions captivated the minds of all with their intriguing compositions.
This helped to underscore the many tactics and pointers that they would have derived from attending Effective Public Speaking classes with Val Henry of VH Communications. Personal development is quite evident with each of the young ladies.
These young ladies are pouring their heart’s and soul’s into this pageant. It takes much dedication and serious hard work. I know; I’ve done it myself! I give these six strong famales props for taking on such a huge role. I can’t wait to see who will take home and up-hold the Crown!
