Hurricane Bertha Misses Nevis
The first hurricane of the year surpasses Nevis Island!
Yes, it is now Hurricane Season for Nevis and all surrounding Caribbean Islands.
Reports from SKNVibes.com say:
Bertha formed on July 3rd near the southern Cape Verde Islands in the far eastern Atlantic near the coast of Africa. Tropical storm Bertha strengthened in the early hours of Monday, July 7th to become the first hurricane of the 2008 season, but forecasters believe the storm should travel north of the Leeward Islands, leaving St. Kitts & Nevis relatively unaffected.
Reuters.com say that Tthe NHC forecast Bertha would strengthen into Category 2 hurricane, with winds of 96-110 mph, in about 12 hours, before weakening back into a Category 1 hurricane in about two days.
No land mass should go unprotected and unwarned. NEVIS has not to worry about not being informed about all threatening tropical storms as it too has people on top of all tropical weather conditions. The National Hurricane Center is always on top of all Hurricane activity as is The National Weather Center.
Not to Worry! We will stay on top of all tropical conditions this summer on Nevis, West Indies…
Just tryin’ to help look out! ~God Bless Nevis~
