The last seven years has seen this natural resource put to good use once again, modern day visitors from Europe and the USA come to Nevis for its great Windsurfing. Winston Crooke owner of Windsurfing Nevis is wholly responsible for putting Nevis on the world map as a credible windsurfing destination, born and raised in England of Kittitian/Nevisian parentage, Winston has been windsurfing for twenty-two years and a professional instructor for the last sixteen. After discovering the islands potential as a Windsurfing Holiday destination in 1991 he brought HI-Tech sailing to Nevis, and worked with the Hotels and tourism dept. to exploit this potential, Winston also worked with local youths teaching and coaching them to the point where they could join him in representing Nevis both at local and international regattas.
